Dear Friend of Hackensack Riverkeeper,
Once again, it is time to sit back, relax, and reflect upon the year that is nearly over.
The year may have begun in January, but our 2014 season kicked off in April with the first-ever Bergen County EarthFest Overpeck, during which thousands of people enjoyed one of the region’s biggest Earth Day celebrations. The event also marked the Grand Opening of our new Overpeck Park Kayak Center and launched the boating season both there and at our Paddling Center at Laurel Hill Park, which recently completed its fifteenth season! EarthFest also included the Recycled Regatta, an event that will return in 2015 with even more teams showing us all creative, inspiring ways to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
