Hackensack Riverkeeper is so grateful to everybody who purchased raffle tickets and made this fundraiser a success - we're sorry you all couldn't win! A total of 311 tickets were sold, and the Dean of the Silberman College of Business at FDU selected the winning tickets.

Thank you to our student friends at Fairleigh Dickinson and Professor Kent Fairfield for their hard work and determination to educate the college community about the Hackensack River.

Hackensack Riverkeeper is very pleased to announce that the students of a Senior Management class at Fairleigh Dickinson University and their Professor, Kent Fairfield, have “adopted” Hackensack Riverkeeper as their senior project beneficiary. The students are organizing bake sales, a huge Earth Day river cleanup on the FDU campus and last but not least (well, perhaps in the tiny sense of the word), they are raffling off a SMART CAR for us!

You have probably seen some of these amazing little cars on the road since the recent opening of the smart center Englewood, NJ, the newest member of the Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp. The “smart fortwo passion coupe” model being raffled is a brand new, 2008 2-seater that gets over 40 mpg on the highway with a MSRP of $14,235. A donation of $50 enters you into the raffle, and you can purchase the tickets through Hackensack Riverkeeper by clicking HERE, then clicking Donate Now, or by calling the office at 201-968-0808 or stopping in the office at 231 Main Street in Hackensack, NJ.

Only 500 tickets will be sold.

Second prize consists of gift certificates worth $100, and third prize is gift certificates worth $50.
Gift certificates are for area restaurants, etc.

The drawing will be held on May 12, 2008 at the Silberman College of Business at FDU.
Winners do not need to be present, and will be contacted by telephone.
