Lotsa Pasta, Lotsa Love

Hackensack Riverkeeper Serves Spaghetti Dinner For Volunteers

On February 25, Hackensack Riverkeeper held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Elk’s Club in Bergenfield. Riverkeeper staff spent the day slaving over huge pots of homemade spaghetti sauce, then dished it out to more than 60 hungry volunteers. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and aromatic, and the company was excellent. Many folks went home with one of the many door prizes, and others left with the email addresses of the new friends they had made! Thanks to the Elk’s Club for the donation of their lovely hall, and thanks always to our volunteers - we hope to make this spaghetti dinner an annual tradition!
