RiverCreepers Gear Up For ‘06 World Series of BirdingHelp
Them Meet Their $5,000 Matching Fund! May 13 will mark the Hackensack RiverCreepers’ fifth entry in the New Jersey Audubon Society’s World Series of Birding (WSB). On that day, they’ll race around the watershed to list as many birds (and raise as much cash) as they can. The WSB is one of the world’s premier birding events. Each year, participants come to New Jersey - rightly nicknamed “The Crossroads of Migration” - from all around the globe to count birds and raise critical funds for conservation. Here’s how you can join the team and support the important work of Hackensack Riverkeeper without having to get up at 2:30 AM (!) like the rest of the ‘Creepers:
This year we are the recipient of a World Series of Birding Matching Fund that will match every pledge and donation dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000. Because of this generosity, 50¢ per bird pledges become $1 pledges, $50 donations turn into $100 donations, etc. Pledges and donations of any amount are most welcome and appreciated. However you choose to support the Team, you can be sure that you’re doing your part to help protect, preserve and restore the wildlife habitat of the Hackensack River watershed for now and for always. All donations marked “WSB” are eligible for the match, so send in your contribution even if it is after the actual WSB day. |
