Indoor Presentations
Captain Bill Sheehan, Captain Hugh Carola and other members of our staff can bring the watershed to you with a presentation to your club, school or organization in the comfort of your own space. We can present a PowerPoint slideshow, video presentation or lecture/watershed update with Q&A – all for reasonable honoraria. We can work around your schedule and will always bring plenty of literature to share with all attendees.
Over the years we have amassed a wealth of presentation materials appropriate for all sorts of audiences. You can go on a virtual tour From the High Tor Mountains to Newark Bay – The Hackensack River and its keeper; conduct a private screening of Turning the Tide – New Jersey Network’s acclaimed documentary about urban wetlands; introduce you to the Flora and Fauna of the Hackensack River Watershed; teach you The Truth About CSOs, and all about The Public Trust Doctrine; and lots more.
Honoraria:
- School/Scout audiences: $150 if presented within the Bergen/Hudson/E. Passaic/S. Rockland area; $200 if presented outside of our watershed region.
- Adult audiences: $200 if presented within the Bergen/Hudson/E. Passaic/S. Rockland area; $300 if presented outside of our watershed region.
For more info or to book a presentation, call 201-968-0808 and ask for Program Director Captain Hugh Carola.
And that’s not all…
In addition to Hackensack Riverkeeper presentations, our organization is the Host Agency for the AmeriCorps / NJ Department of Environmental Protection Watershed Ambassador program. Each year from October thru July, a talented and dedicated environmental educator is assigned to our organization to conduct watershed-based EE for groups of all ages.
In addition to classroom events and assisting with our Combination and Urban Watershed Education Programs, Watershed Ambassadors also conduct Rain Barrel workshops, Stream Assessment trainings and other educational activities for adults.
Costs: Free (some minimal costs for adult EE materials may be required)
